Overview

Koki is an application designed for restaurant owners in Paraguay, allowing them to manage every aspect of their business efficiently from a single place. Through the app, users can manage orders, control the availability of dishes, coordinate the delivery service, manage schedules, collaborators and optimize the daily operation of their establishment.

Goal

The main objective of Koki is to develop a comprehensive mobile application that simplifies and optimizes restaurant operational management, providing owners with a technological tool that centralizes and automates critical processes such as order management, menu administration, delivery, staff, and scheduling. Through an intuitive and functional interface, the application seeks to transform the complexity of restaurant management into a smooth and efficient experience.

Koki aims to become a strategic ally for restaurants, empowering them with technology that allows them to make smarter decisions, reduce operational errors, and improve the experience for both internal teams and customers. The application's design focuses on creating a scalable solution that adapts to different types of establishments, from small local restaurants to larger venues, facilitating the digitalization and optimization of their administrative and service processes.

Problem

Restaurants today face a critical operational complexity that hinders their efficiency and growth. Traditional management is characterized by fragmented processes, multiple disconnected tools, and manual systems prone to errors, resulting in inefficient administration of orders, staff, menus, and resources. This disorganization leads to time waste, poor communication between teams, and difficulty in obtaining a comprehensive view of the business.

Koki emerges as a technological solution aimed at transforming this reality, offering an integrated platform that centralizes and simplifies restaurant management. By unifying processes, automating administrative tasks, and providing real-time analysis tools, the application enables owners to free themselves from operational complexity, focusing on what truly matters: creating exceptional gastronomic experiences and strategically growing their business.

Research process

The research process to improve Koki's design began with a comprehensive analysis of the original screens, identifying multiple opportunities for usability and accessibility improvement. Using a user-centered methodology, I conducted a comparative study with leading restaurant management applications, applied user experience and user interface design principles. The analysis revealed critical issues such as poor visual hierarchy, lack of design consistency, limited accessibility for users with diverse abilities, and unintuitive navigation. As a result, I developed a comprehensive design system that implemented an accessible color palette, legible typography, consistent spacing, clear iconography, and a more natural interaction flow, transforming the original precarious design into a visually appealing, functional solution centered on user experience.
